Thème n° 13 : Systems biomimetism

Cette semaine un rapport sur le biomimétisme c'est-à-dire l'attitude des chercheurs en biologie qui consiste plus ou moins à essayer de reproduire artificiellement des milieux semblables à ceux rencontrés dans les organismes vivants en contrôlant complètement les paramètres (composition, température, etc...) de façon à essayer d'en comprendre le fonctionnement en détail. On peut de cette manière essayer par exemple de contrôler artificiellement e déploiement des molécules d'ADN pour en maîtriser la réplication, ou encore essayer de construire des "cellules artificielles" pour regarder comment elles évoluent.

Most biological systems are organized according to complex architectures involving multi-scale hierarchical organizations, non linear interactions, feedback controls, and evolutionary behaviours. To understand the underlying physical, biological, and chemical aspects controlling the organization of living systems, we propose a transdisciplinary biomimetic approach. The talk will be divided into three parts:
A) Controlling DNA conformation and transcription activity by light
B) Living cells in an artificial world
C) Artificial cells in a living world
